Can you imagine?

This is about 1.5 months worth of formula for Hannah's Hope Ethiopia. This photo came from Amy who just came back home. She says, "Almaz had tears in her eyes when she walked in and saw everything. She said she thought the formula would last a month and a half!"
First of all, that's fabulous. I am so impressed by how much formula we managed to get over there in a very short amount of time. I'm pretty sure the next travel group has just as much to bring next week too. But secondly, can you even imagine going through that much formula every 6 weeks? At $14-30 a can, that is just unbelievable! It's no wonder why even a temporary disruption in supply can cause such a problem. And Hannah's Hope is a really small orphanage.
Thanks again to my friends that donated! The good news is Almaz was able to secure a purchase of $10,000 worth of formula and arrange for a more predictable shipment. She now is hoping we can switch our focus toward DIAPERS and WIPES. And she's quite partial to US diapers because they are apparently a lot better than the ones they can find.
