White Christmas

Even though the yardstick was put in upside down, if you do the math (36" minus the 8" showing here) that's 28" deep. And pretty thick too because "C" isn't even sinking in too far. When he stands up it comes all the way up to his waist!We're still waiting for Papa to come home, so there was plenty of time to play outside. What a beautiful Christmas, with snow falling much of the day and a fire in the fireplace (a daily treat courtesy of Belinda and Christian) that only banished us to the other side of the house for a few hours. Maybe Dad will learn to make nice little fires like that someday too, the kind that don't turn the whole house into an oven.
Apparently the Seattle area has only had 10 white Christmases on record since 1891, I think this year we more than made up for all the green (gray) ones.


But even though we're waiting for Papa, we did stop by the fireplace to see what Santa dropped off for the boys. An archery set and blow darts for C and board books for A. Christian stayed in his jammies all day long (and so did his Auntie and Mom). In the afternoon he wanted us all to stop by his candle store for the after-Christmas bargains. He had everything marked with price tags and even let us pay with satsuma oranges.
